WICHITA FALLS (March 14, 2012) The Work Hard-Work Smart initiative, spearheaded by the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry has helped over 1,200 community members receive their National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC). The NCRC is just one part of their pursuit to stimulate the regional economy, make our local employers more successful, and get the unemployed and under-employed back to work.

?

?With over 1,200 thousand Work Hard ? Work Smart participants receiving their NCRC certificates this week, we are excited to introduce these candidates to our local employers,? says Michael Paris, Vice President for Workforce Development with the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Approximately 85% of high school seniors scored well enough to receive their NCRC last Fall. These certificate holders will be receiving their NCRC certificate this week and information on more opportunities that can assist in their job search, including an invitation to attend the first National Career Readiness Job Fair at Sikes Senter Mall on March 1st from 1 to 8 p.m. ?Work Hard ? Work Smart is extremely grateful for the relationships we have built with the surrounding high schools,? says Teea Reed, Director for Work Hard ? Work Smart, ?Thanks to these relationships, surrounding high school seniors will not only graduate with a high school diploma, they will be graduating with a nationally recognized credential stating they are work-ready.?

?
