MILWAUKEE (AP) - Hall of Fame broadcaster Bob Uecker's son Steve has died from complications related to San Joaquin Valley fever.
The Brewers issued a statement saying Steve Uecker passed away Friday at a hospital in Milwaukee. He was 52.
Bob Uecker called it "a very difficult time" for his family and thanked the Brewers and the fans for their support. He also thanked the staff at Froedtert Hospital for their efforts.
Steve Uecker also is survived by his mother, Joyce, brother, Bob Jr., sisters Sue and Leann, and several nieces.
